Sam Self is a media and radio personality with over 7 years experience. She has produced and presented several shows on local radio as well as being a voice-over artist on radio, video and pod casts.
Sam started in radio in 2009 when she appeared on a show publicising her weight loss business at her local community radio station Saint FM 94.7. The station noted her natural flare behind the mic and asked her to consider appearing as a co-host on a show. Initially Sam appeared on both The Drive Time and the MAD Breakfast Shows the latter of which she then went on to solo host for several months.
During this time Saint FM offered her the opportunity to produce her own show in the evenings about classic and soft rock (her main music passion). In late 2010 the show was launched as Aluminium and shortly thereafter she gained a co-host. The show ran for almost 18 months and during this time she gained a solid listener base and interviewed many famous rock stars including Robin Guy (Tigertailz), Danny Vaughn (Tyketto and Ultimate Eagles), Amanda Somerville (Trillium) and most of the group Magnum! The latter enjoyed themselves so much they asked Aluminium to premier their latest single from the album The Visitation (2011) whilst running a competition to win tickets to see them.

Also while on Saint, Sam attended the Chelmsford FC vs Arsenal ex-pros and celebrities football match in 2010 where she met and interviewed Tony Hadley, Tommy Walsh and Ralf Little. She has also provided many idents for Saint FM and their shows (some of which can be found on the Ident page) as well as being the voice over on the Royal Academy of Music Museum’s video and upcoming pod cast (see Voice over page).
Sam has also appeared on American radio at the Illinois Center for Broacasting on their Chicagoland Sports Radio as a result of applying to study there and being overheard by the hosts while recording an advert show reel.
Sam now regularly guest hosts with Mickey Hall on his Classic Rock Show on Radio Warrington on Thursdays 8-10pm and most recently she hosted several Race for Life events in Southport, Warrington and Delamere and she will be hosting Haydock and Manchester Heaton Park at their 21st birthday bash!
